When dating someone, people tend to identify similarities between themselves and their partner. Not only that, often the more time you spend together, the more you start to act like each other. Whether it be the things you say, mannerisms or the way you dress, it’s common to pick up characteristics of the person you spend the most time with. As time goes on, it seems that more and more couples are looking for matching items, whether they’re just being cute and matching or like to have something between the two of them, it’s definitely becoming a more frequent occurrence. Now we have to ask your opinion. What are your thoughts when it comes to matching with your partner?
Whether you are the person that likes to find something matching for you and your partner, or the one receiving the matching item, there are things to consider. First and foremost, you don’t want to change your partners’ style and invade their likes and dislikes. You have to keep in mind, not everyone has the same style, and some people are more comfortable in a different type of underwear than you are. Don’t get us wrong, we think matching underwear is super cute, but take a look at some things you need to consider before taking the plunge into matching undies.
Body Type
One of the most important things you need to consider is that no one is built the same way. Whether you and your partner have the exact same type of body or you have completely different body types, the same underwear is going to fit each of you differently. No matter how similar your bodies are the same pair of underwear will fit differently. Now, chances are you and your partner have different body types, and the same style of underwear isn’t going to flatter both of you. For example, if you are someone who is a little more reserved and likes to keep everything covered you’re going to opt for a short, but if you are someone who is very active and needs support, you might look into a jock.
Support
Once again, this goes back to your preference for underwear. Some people like more support, while some people like a little more freedom. You have to always keep in mind what will be good for both of you. If you both appreciate the same type of support, or freedom; then you’re all set. However, if you wear very different types of styles (i.e. loose fitting classic boxer vs a thong) you may want to put extra thought into the set you are selecting.
The Benefit
Hey, who knows, you might go out on a limb and get something for your partner that they may not have tried before; and they might love it! Although it is important to take your partners likes into account when it comes to underwear, it’s also OK to step outside the box. It might surprise you how much they like the pair of undies you got them, especially if it is something they haven’t tried before.
Our Recommendation
Depending on your relationship, and comfort zone you’ll have to be the one to decide to explore new options or stay safe with something you know they’ll like. Ultimately, we recommend going the safe route and get a set that has the same overall theme. The good news is, every Male Power collection offers different body-styles; so while you might not match identically down to the cut, you can still wear the same print while staying in your own respective comfort zones when it comes to fit. For example, each collection consists of a similar fabric, pattern, and color but all have different designs such as: shorts, thongs, jocks, g-strings etc. If you’re asking our opinion on matching underwear for you and your partner, we love it – just be sure to consider both parties when buying.
